Come Fall, it seems possible that music educators may find themselves in rehearsal rooms with smaller and less-standard ensembles. What music can work with a variety of instrumentations and sizes?
Fortunately, many composers are currently crafting music that will fit this need for adaptable music.
My first effort in music for flexible instrumentation is a set of three arrangements of tunes by the English renaissance composer Thomas Tallis. The arrangements will be for 4-part flexible ensemble with optional percussion parts.
I’m planning to include all necessary transpositions for band and orchestra instruments, suggested instrumentations, creative teaching ideas, and more. See more details and sign up to be notified when music is available here.
